stressed1

Over the past year, I have done two of the three most stressful things you can do in your life; I got married and I bought a house (the latter being by far the most stressful!)

Perhaps I didn’t find my wedding stressful because I am so used to organising a variety of events on a daily basis? This made me realise that the stress I went through buying my house is probably what most employees go through when having to organise their company event.

With ‘event organisers’ being listed as one of the most demanding jobs out there, it’s hardly a surprise that employees dread that time of year when the boss asks them to organise an event which isn’t in their job description. I have heard countless horror stories from clients about sleepless nights, panic attacks, staying at the hotel two days earlier to run through every possible situation, and feeling the symptoms of a mini heart attack prior to the event.

Well this year instead of informing BUPA that you’re organising an event and asking them to be on standby, why not get Chillisauce to relieve the pressure and organise your event for you? This allows you some time to be creative and make sure your guests can have a fuller experience, meaning you actually get to enjoy the event at the same time!

I have found a few things that make a big difference to stress levels when organising an event and I will share these tips with you:

1. Check List – Not list making, have a check list of when things are completed e.g. Contracts

2. Thorough Reading – double check everything that your suppliers, venues require in the T&C’s, therefore you won’t be surprised

3. Take Advise – If the event supplier or venue say it won’t work, then take there advise as they have done thousands of events and you are organising one

4. Rehearsal – Make sure you have a run through with all parties involved for times and what they require for the day. If you have multiply suppliers you should pick up what each of them need from each other

5. Don’t Panic – If you have signed contracts and had site visits then you don’t need to ring them up every day to make sure they are coming because it will panic you more

We recently helped a client from Virgin Money who had a really tight budget and needed a venue that had conferencing facilities and activities.

In previous years, she had dreaded organising it, never enjoyed it and felt like she needed a holiday after it! Well this year, we helped her organise the event and are extremely happy with her feedback;

‘I have never used an events co-ordinator before and I can truly say they made organising this years event the easiest I’ve ever done!’

Whether it’s Christmas parties, summer parties, training & development or teambuilding events, why not give us a bell and see how we can help you out with the restricted budgets for this year?
