As it’s chocolate week the team at Chillisauce jumped on the wagon wheel in having a celebration. Here are some of the ways we managed to twirl chocolate into our work this week, snicker snicker…
Every month the Chillisauce team have a meeting to discuss new products and venues. This month, with the added incentive of chocolate goodies up for grabs, the team suddenly perked up and became more knowledgeable about the world of events than Michael Eavis. By the way Spencer, how are you getting on with that chocolate body scrub?
Ian has been using chocolate to unite and motivate the team with his random question of the day – (quickest answer wins one chocolate, a bit tight if you ask us). Answer of the week goes to Isabel:
Q: In the world of golf, what are the different terms used when a player scores 1 under par; 2 under par; 3 under par on a hole?
Isabel: birdy/ducky/swan
Speaking to Mike about Chocolate, it came to light that he’d penned a 200 page essay on the Cadbury’s gorilla in his ‘crazy’ uni days. (We feel sorry for the person who had to mark that). We asked him to condense all his valuable worldly gorilla knowledge to one sentence…
‘A man dressed up in a very expensive gorilla suit playing the drums to a Phil Collins classic sells a hell of a lot of chocolate’
n.b. Mike would like us to point out that he does not have a thing about gorillas. (He’s more of an orang-utan man)
To wrap things up, let’s revel in some random chocolate facts…
Chocolate is responsible for the microwave! Scientists were initially experimenting with micro waves in the hopes of creating a better radar detector. On one such lab, a scientist named Percy Spencer happened to stroll through with a chocolate bar in his pocket. When he discovered the melted chocolate, Spencer realised that he might be able to use the magnetron to cook food.
In 2000 – 500 BC Beans were also used as money, making it the tastiest currency in history. 100 beans could buy a slave and 4 beans would get you a sprightly little rabbit. Get your hands on a Cadbury’s Flake and you were pretty much royalty.
