Commercial Director Will dusted off his leather satchel and went back to school on Wednesday to take part in an Entrepreneurship Masterclass for GCSE students. Kings School in Grantham, whose alumni include Sir Isaac Newton, invited Will to talk to students about being an entrepreneur and assist them with a business project.

The students had to come up with an original idea for a company, develop a business plan, website, and advertise for staff all in a single day- certainly a tough task, but the students’ were more than a up to it.

Will was impressed by the students’ enthusiasm and creativity as they worked together in small teams to generate ideas which they had to present to Will and their teachers. After putting each team through a Dragon’s Den-style grilling, the top prize went to the group proposing an IT support company focusing on data handling and backup. Second prize was awarded to a gardening services company called Will’s Hoes (stop sniggering at the back).

If you like a night out, Grantham could be the place to move in the future as several young entrepreneurs wanted to open nightclubs in the town.

To thank him for his invaluable contribution, and because his demand of £1000 cash was refused, Will was presented with a certificate (above, left) by Young Enterprise.

If you fancy yourself as an entrepreneur, why not pit your wits against your workmates in our new Den of Dragons event:
