Client Brief

The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) ensure the continued health and successful development of the sport. The Stud & Stable Staff Awards pay tribute to the leading stud and stable employees in the country, as nominated by their employers and peers. The Awards – the richest of their kind in the world, with £150,000 in prize money – are generously sponsored by Godolphin and run by the British Horseracing Authority in association with the Racing Post.

BHA wanted to improve on last years event and include the changes the Racing for Change society had made to attract a young audience. A slick set, graphics, video montage and production within brand guidelines of the main sponsor, Godolphin, at the Jumeirah Carlton Towers where ceiling height and rigging points were extremely restricting.

Our Thinking

We created a bright and bold stage that would suit the time of day and audience that were being invited.

Chillisauce designed and created a simple stage and set with graphics, set furniture and lighting to highlight all in the Godolphin sponsor. To help create the right atmosphere when award winners collected their awards, we suggested a bespoke programme utilising the lighting and music stings appropriate to the time of day and audience.
We created a video montage to open the conference which included off site filming visiting racing yards, the racing school and the National stud to get up to date and relevant footage.

There were 200 invited guests for this lunch time awards event with TV coverage, press reports and radio broadcasters in attendance. To ensure that all nominees received recognition for their contribution, BHA displayed photographs and informative reports of all nominees in the drinks reception area before and after the awards ceremony.

The Finer Details

Attention to detail was, as always, imperative to ensure a smooth running and successful event, particularly as Chillisauce were doing all the production side this year and the event was being covered by the majority of the racing media.

Chillisauce worked closely with BHA organisers to create an imaginative set and stage, stings that suited the audience, an emotive opening video montage and designed and produced graphics and lighting that created the desired ambiance for the event.
Chillisauce also created a DVD of the live event that has been loaded up onto the BHA website for all to view.

Chillisauce managed all aspects of the event from the slick screening of the introduction montage to the awards presentation logistics.

Client Feedback

“Thank you to both you and to the rest of the Chillisauce team for all of your hard work and diligence in making the Stud and Stable Staff Awards the best yet.

We have received so much positive feedback this morning and it’s still coming in thick and fast. The general consensus is that the Awards this year has completely over-shadowed previous years and that it seems to now generate the gravitas and recognition that it warrants.”
